Oak shows a broad, characterful figure in a natural tone, with plenty of knots and colour variation from board to board. A clear, sealed finish means it stands up to heavy footfall. A herringbone pattern draws the eye and works in both period and modern rooms. Well suited to busy kitchens and hallways, and it's rated to sit over underfloor heating. Installation Advice
Gower Oak Matt is a real-wood engineered floor that can be floated over underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor, depending on the room and build-up. For a flawless, long-lasting finish we recommend professional fitting by our experienced Edinburgh joiners.
- Acclimatise the boards in the room for 48-72 hours before fitting
- Check the subfloor is clean, dry, level and moisture-tested
- Float over a quality underlay, or bond with the correct flexible adhesive
- Leave the recommended expansion gap around the perimeter
- Finish neatly with matching beading, scotia or thresholds
