Oak has an open, flowing grain, a soft dark grey, with plenty of knots and colour variation from board to board. At 1.8 m long, they suit a larger room. It works well in busy kitchens and hallways, and it's happy over underfloor heating too. It's an easy fit for busy kitchens and hallways and should age well there.

Installation Advice

Brown Vintage Oak Extra Matt is a real-wood engineered floor that can be floated over underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor, depending on the room and build-up. For a flawless, long-lasting finish we recommend professional fitting by our experienced Edinburgh joiners.

Acclimatise the boards in the room for 48-72 hours before fitting
Check the subfloor is clean, dry, level and moisture-tested
Float over a quality underlay, or bond with the correct flexible adhesive
Leave the recommended expansion gap around the perimeter
Finish neatly with matching beading, scotia or thresholds
