Oak has a broad, characterful figure, a soft dark grey, with plenty of knots and colour variation from board to board. At 310 mm wide, wider boards mean fewer seams to see. It's a straightforward, hard-working floor at heart.

Installation Advice

Eclipse Oak Oiled is a real-wood engineered floor that can be floated over underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor, depending on the room and build-up. For a flawless, long-lasting finish we recommend professional fitting by our experienced Edinburgh joiners.

Acclimatise the boards in the room for 48-72 hours before fitting
Check the subfloor is clean, dry, level and moisture-tested
Float over a quality underlay, or bond with the correct flexible adhesive
Leave the recommended expansion gap around the perimeter
Finish neatly with matching beading, scotia or thresholds
