Brushed oak carries an open, flowing grain in a light brown cast, with strong rustic character from board to board. Brushing helps everyday scuffs vanish into the grain. A soft, matt oiled finish over a stable engineered core means the sheen stays low and matt rather than glossy, while the core keeps its shape where solid timber would shift. At 2.2 m long, there are fewer breaks to interrupt the grain. That stability is the real argument for it over a solid floor.

Oak Brushed Rustikal Basic 11-5 Wide plank (1518264) is a real-wood engineered floor that can be floated over underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor, depending on the room and build-up. For a flawless, long-lasting finish we recommend professional fitting by our experienced Edinburgh joiners.
- Acclimatise the boards in the room for 48-72 hours before fitting
- Check the subfloor is clean, dry, level and moisture-tested
- Float over a quality underlay, or bond with the correct flexible adhesive
- Leave the recommended expansion gap around the perimeter
- Finish neatly with matching beading, scotia or thresholds
