Wide oak carries an open, flowing grain in a light brown cast, with strong rustic character from board to board. Brushing lifts the grain, so the figure stands out clearly. A pale, white-washed finish over a stable engineered core means it holds the pale tone rather than letting the wood yellow, and there's a full 25 mm of wear layer to sand back before any refinish. At 2.2 m long, there are fewer breaks to interrupt the grain. Put together, it's a tough surface on a steady core that should take years of use without complaint.

Oak Brushed Rustikal Basic 11-5 Wide plank (1595135) is a real-wood engineered floor that can be floated over underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor, depending on the room and build-up. For a flawless, long-lasting finish we recommend professional fitting by our experienced Edinburgh joiners.
- Acclimatise the boards in the room for 48-72 hours before fitting
- Check the subfloor is clean, dry, level and moisture-tested
- Float over a quality underlay, or bond with the correct flexible adhesive
- Leave the recommended expansion gap around the perimeter
- Finish neatly with matching beading, scotia or thresholds
