Brushed oak carries a broad, characterful figure, with plenty of knots and colour variation from board to board. Brushing lifts the grain, so the figure stands out clearly. A protective matt lacquer means a wipe with a damp mop is about all it asks. At 2 m long, long runs draw the eye down the room. Hard enough to take chair legs and dropped pans. It's a straightforward, hard-working floor at heart.

Installation Advice
Oak Iris is a real-wood engineered floor that can be floated over underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor, depending on the room and build-up. For a flawless, long-lasting finish we recommend professional fitting by our experienced Edinburgh joiners.
- Acclimatise the boards in the room for 48-72 hours before fitting
- Check the subfloor is clean, dry, level and moisture-tested
- Float over a quality underlay, or bond with the correct flexible adhesive
- Leave the recommended expansion gap around the perimeter
- Finish neatly with matching beading, scotia or thresholds
