Brushed oak has an open, flowing grain, with clear movement board to board. Brushing lifts the grain, so the figure stands out clearly. A soft, matt oiled finish sits on a stable engineered core, and the core keeps its shape where solid timber would shift. At 2.2 m long, the room reads calmer with fewer lines across it. That stability is the real argument for it over a solid floor.

Installation Advice
Oak Tramontane is a real-wood engineered floor that can be floated over underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor, depending on the room and build-up. For a flawless, long-lasting finish we recommend professional fitting by our experienced Edinburgh joiners.
- Acclimatise the boards in the room for 48-72 hours before fitting
- Check the subfloor is clean, dry, level and moisture-tested
- Float over a quality underlay, or bond with the correct flexible adhesive
- Leave the recommended expansion gap around the perimeter
- Finish neatly with matching beading, scotia or thresholds
