Brushed oak has an open, flowing grain, with plenty of knots and colour variation from board to board. A brushed surface has a more traditional, worked look. A protective matt lacquer over a stable engineered core means the surface shrugs off the odd splash, and there's a full 3.5 mm of wear layer to sand back before any refinish. At 2.2 m long, long runs draw the eye down the room. It adds up to a hard-wearing floor on a core that stays put, the kind that takes daily use in its stride.
